DRESSED TO FRILL

By on April 4, 2017

The SS17 show season has sadly come to an end and a clear trend emerging from the catwalks is the ruffle. As seen through the last couple of seasons from designers like Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs and up-and-coming Molly Goddard, whether big, small, neat or exaggerated,  clean lines have been banished to embrace a new mood of femininity. All things frills and ruffles create a more playful way of dressing, giving your outfits much more volume. Gone are the memories of frills and flounces being the key feature of the party dress that you had to be forced into when you were younger, those fluted layers have been given a high-fashion revival.

This frill sleeve and tie detail ‘Marlow Blue Check Oversized Ruffle Sleeve Low Shoulder Shirt’ from Pretty Little Thing flew off the shelves, it literally  went out of stock within 1 week of launching! So make sure you keep an eye on the ‘back in stock’ section on the PLT website, but they do still have a huge selection of other ruffle tops/shirts. Or in the meantime shop similar at Blue VanillaRiver Island or Topshop. I guarantee there will be a lot more frill detailing popping up throughout the SS17 season.

To compliment the subtle blue and white check pattern on my tie waist shirt, I decided to style it with white trousers and shoes. This bright and classic colour scheme is perfect for the spring season. The frill detail on the hem of these Zara cropped trousers make them a more understated option for styling the trend, you can pair these with almost anything! Wear with a nude coloured bodysuit to look effortless throughout the day and then pair with a tie waist tunic to slay through the night. The stretchy material of these trousers and concealed zip fastening make them comfortable and easy to wear all day long.

So I have to say, I am obsessed with these sling back heels from Zara. Their extreme pointed toe and monochrome colour scheme make them to die for! They will definitely be one of my go to shoes this summer. I styled the bright, fresh colours of my outfit with some silver Quay Australia aviators, and a silver diamanté choker from Bronzais. OFF DUTY

By on March 8, 2017

There’s nothing better than relaxing at home in a pair of joggers and watching TV with a glass of wine. But you don’t have to stay at home to stay comfy with joggers now being a key street style statement! Sport the off duty look by pairing joggers with a bodysuit and pair of heels, or if you want to be super comfy swap the heels for trainers. I am literally obsessed with jogging bottoms because: they’re a great alternative to skinny jeans, they’re so comfortable, they are extremely versatile and can be dressed up or down.

This whole outfit is from PrettyLittleThing, I am unleashing my #PLTStyle. I am sure many of you already love PLT. But if you have never used the company, these are the reasons why it’s my go-to shop: They have everything from wardrobe basics to killer style statements, their range is always on trend but also very affordable and I think the quality of their products is amazing. So make sure you’re slaying the #PLTStyle from now on.

PrettyLittleThing nail the off duty look with a wide range of joggers and have mutliple bodysuits, tops or hoody’s to pair them with. I chose these lace up joggers because of the extra detailing, they are extremely comfortable and the material is really thick. The white fluffy bag that I have shot was purchased from ASOS about a year ago and has now sold out, so I have linked a similar bag from PrettyLittleThing in my ‘shop the look’ edit.
