TRENCHING IN NOTTING HILL

By on May 9, 2017

This is one of my favourite outfits to date. I have been searching high and low for the perfect trench coat, it is the one thing my wardrobe has been missing. Trench coats are without a doubt one of the best seasonal investments you’ll ever make, and now that the weather is improving as we move into Spring (fingers crossed), it’s time to trade in your winter coat for this classic go-to utilitarian wardrobe staple. Although Burberry are the notorious masters of the trench, luckily for our purses, there are amazing high street alternatives.

There are so many reasons I love my ASOS trench coat, firstly the quality is amazing, the woven fabric gives the material the perfect amount of stretch and the fully lined inside makes it both comfortable and fit like a glove. Secondly, the styling is perfect for petite frames, the self-tie belt cinches in your waist and the trench coat comes to your shin, a length I have really struggled to find up until now! Finally, the funnel neckline and pale grey colouring make this coat extremely versatile. You can wear it with anything, dresses, jeans, skirts, jumpsuits … you name it, and this trench will be your perfect match.

I decided to keep to a bright, pastel orientated colour palette. The pale grey base of the trench coat compliments my pointed lilac mules, metallic clutch with a pink slogan and slightly brighter, blue ripped skinny jeans. This outfit is perfect to take you from the day through to the night.  If you want to dress the trench coat down, pair with a pale grey tote bag and some white Adidas Superstar trainers instead.

To put the finishing touch on my bright, pastel hue, city inspired outfit, I chose to shoot in amongst Notting Hill’s charming buildings. I have fallen in love with this location, the rows of pastel coloured houses along Portobello Road make this an iconic spot and the perfect match. If only I could be in Notting Hill every time I wore this outfit!
