STEPPING INTO SPRING

By on February 25, 2017

This shoot was created on Westminster Bridge which runs over the River Thames, linking Westminster and Lambeth together. I feel like this is such an exciting and cultural place to visit in London. You have The Houses of Parliament, The London Eye, Big Ben and Westminster Palace all within walking distance! It feels so regal around here with the intricate architecture and up-market buzz which comes with being around Westminster. If you are ever stuck with what to do in London, or aren’t sure where to go when you visit, add this one to your list for sure!

.I have literally worn this coat all winter, it has been the staple piece of my wardrobe this season! I would have slept in it if I could. The shearling quilting makes this coat so warm and cosy and it can be styled with almost any colour. I bought this coat a couple of months ago and it’s now sold out, but you can shop similar at Missguided or River Island. I promise you will wear this year after year, time and time again. I have kept this outfit neutral by using cream and blush tones which compliment each other.

Floral patterns applied to clothes through embroidery and appliqué have dominated AW17. Florals featured heavily in Gucci’s 2016 runway shows, and Stella McCartney has been stitching performance materials onto many of her garments. This trend has come from the designers and can now been seen all over the high street across every garment type you could think of! I love this trend. Maybe because it makes me think of summer during gloomy winter days, or maybe because it’s a great way to improve a simple staple piece … I’m not sure why, but it’s safe to say it’s been a favourite look of mine this season. This rose embroidered skirt from Bershka with a frayed hem subtly nails the floral trend, shop similar at Topshop.

ORIENTAL

By on February 17, 2017

Oriental patterns and detailing focused heavily on the catwalks in 2012, and I still love the exotic element it adds to your outfit. Designers take inspiration from the Eastern world and incorporate it into Western wardrobes with oriental symbols, luxe fabrics and patterns. But forget dressing head to toe in the trend and pick out a solitary statement piece instead.

This outfit is channelling my oriental vibes in this Missguided unitard. Unitard’s have made a comeback through the Athleisure trend and after being spotted on celebrity’s like Kim Kardashian, they have became a street style staple. This style can be taken from the gym, to the street, to the club and comes across as a confident and carefree outfit! You can’t argue with such a versatile garment.

This outfit could be worn from day to night! But if you wanted to dress it down, swap the Perspex boots for  pair of all black trainers (but keep the fishnet socks to maintain edginess). Pair either full length, or cropped unitards with a denim jacket or bomber jacket to style the trend. Unitards will continue to feature in SS17, but will be sleeveless and cropped. Still style with a jacket, but just tie it around your waist!
